Sky lanterns popular at Winter Weddings

Here at we specialise in providing and launching sky lanterns at weddings and recently in these winter months we’ve noticed an increase in sales of wedding lanterns, it seems brides are finally realising the potential of  a winter wedding and how glorious sky lanterns look when released against a snowy backdrop.

Winter weddings are sometimes a better idea than spring weddings for a number of different reasons. The main one is the cost, having your wedding in winter will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars as it’s considered to be the off season. You will be able to have your first pick of venues and they will all be considerably reduced in price.

There’s also the fact that your friends and family will be more likely to be able to attend your wedding as it’s less likely they will have winter vaction plans. Then there’s the gorgeous photos a winter wedding can produce. The winter snow and large trees will make for an absolutely stunning backdrop to your wedding photos.

So before you go planning your spring wedding, have a look at your options for a winter wedding and see how much money you can actually save and how beautiful it will be.

Most of our customers who have ordered sky lanterns for their winter weddings have still opted for the white lanterns but are launching them later in the day against an evening backdrop, but we have had some brides who have purchased the coloured lanterns and had them launched at the end of the ceremony which created the most gorgeous visual effect, the coloured lanterns really stood out against the white background.
