At the end of May, hundreds of people from Newport, South Wales, took part in a night-time walk to raise money for a children’s cancer charity. The walk around the four-mile course began at 7:30pm on 22nd May, and finished around 10pm, with participants being treated to refreshments, live music and a barbeque to help them recover after the cold weather activity. Not only this, but each walker had the opportunity to take part in a mass release of wish lanterns, in memory of young people who were being helped by Latch, the nominated charity for the event. Each lantern signified the hard work, time and effort the team at Latch put in to helping children suffering from cancer, as well as their families and people around them.
If you’re raising money for charity, and would like to mark the end of the occasion with something memorable and extra special, why not do as they did in Newport, and release wish lanterns as a signal of hope. We can provide plain white, or even a variety of coloured lanterns, depending on your taste. If you have any stories, or photos from your event, which feature our lanterns, please do share them with us- we always love to hear from those who are giving back and taking part in helping others.
