The town of Redditch in Worcestershire will be playing host to a festival celebrating everything that surrounds the Chinese Moon Festival, on Saturday 25th September. The Redditch Council market services, along with Redditch Chinese Association, have been working tirelessly to organise the outdoor market, where punters will be able to sample such delights as traditional moon cake, drink Chinese tea, and even try their hand at making their own, personalised wish lanterns, which originally come from China and south east Asia. Councillor Jinny Pearce said that the hopes for the day are not only for punters to have fun, but to learn a little more about Chinese culture as well as the local association, and hopefully encourage a great active following and interest in them. The date of the market coincides closely with the beginning of harvest festival, a time for giving and sharing produce from all over the world.
If you’ve been to visit any other unique and exciting festivals this autumn, or would like to show us your own home made wish lanterns (or to get your hands on some of our own), please do get in touch- we always love to hear your stories/help out with deliveries that you require, as soon as possible.
