If you can’t make it out to Seoul this year for the Lantern Festival 2010 participate in your own back yard or a nearby field with your wish lantern. This year’s festival will feature a close to 50 ft. wide by 10 ft. high lantern along with 2,000 lanterns of a smaller size. These will be all part of the 27,000 traditional lanterns from 24 countries. Themed “Seoul, a forest of hope and light” has been planned to celebrate the special first G20 summit which will take place in Korea.
This festival does not have to be limited only in Korea though, you can make your own Lantern Festival right at home with your family and friends. Currently we have a wonderful array of beautiful wish lanterns and everyone can choose a wish lantern to their liking and head out to an open field or shore and celebrate the warmth, light, and good wishes. Attach wishes and blessings for the year and for your loved ones onto the lanterns and send them out to the universe. It’s a great way to get together and enjoy a beautiful evening out in the fresh air. So grab your wish lantern, a blanket, some hot cocoa, and a couple of your closest friends and relatives and enjoy as your wishes light up the sky.
