It all begun with the Chinese Lunar New Year and as you all know lighting wish lanterns is a very old Asian tradition. Countless lanterns were flying in the sky and were illuminating it, creating a fiesta up above. People were celebrating and sending their wishes and hopes up. Then on the 6 Feb, all the Football fans enjoyed the lanterns and quite a few released some. This sports event is beloved by many.

Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was also remembered by many and people all over showed their appreciation for all that he has done for the country by letting a wish lantern in the sky. Two days after was Valentine’s Day and we cannot even begin to describe how the world looked like on this day. Roses, balloons, chocolate, love poems, cards and lanterns. People in love, old couples, newlyweds they have all found a new and exciting way to show their love to one another – perhaps some have heard of this old tradition in the far east, perhaps their intuition told them to, but either way Chinese wish lanterns were seen everywhere. All that was followed by President’s Day on the 21 and Washington’s Birthday on 22nd and some even painted their lanterns in white, blue and red.

Flying lanterns made all these occasions even more special and memorable.
