Papamoa Sky Lit Up With Lanterns

Many children spent weeks in designing their own wish lantern, so they can light it up for the Lighten up Lantern Festival at Papamoa. Approximately 200 people visited the event and most of them were families. We received some feedback from this festival and it turned out that it was mostly a great pleasure for the kids. They were extremely thrilled to participate in such a festival and to actually create something themselves. The sky was lit up with so many lanterns all of different shapes and colors. Everybody loved the event and people really felt that such events should be held more often, because they obviously created a great sense of community. Over 150 handmade lanterns were illuminated with Led torches. They named them “Garden of Dreams”. There was bamboo and grease proof paper provided by Creative Communities, NZ. People twisted the paper and the bamboo and created kiwis, butterflies, pumpkins and flowers out of them. There were some performances from the Gypsy Fair performers, Samba drummers and Capoeira demonstrations. Overall the event was very entertaining and people just loved it. They are now impatient for another such event and the kids are already planning the design of their new lantern for next year.

It is not so difficult to organize a Lantern Event at your own community. Order a wish lantern from us and show it to your neighbors. They will love it and soon you will have your own neighborhood lantern party.
