Worlds largest Sky Lantern

We have recently been sent in photos from another wish lantern seller in China of what he thinks has to be the worlds largest sky lantern. The images were taken at the end of August

Created by lantern manufacturers in China for the annual hungry ghost festival – Yu Lan. A traditional Chinese festival on the 15th night of the seventh month of the Chinese calendar. The lantern itself is made from 72 smaller lanterns and as these pictures showed it did manage to take off.

We wouldn’t want to have been around when it landed – although at least the flames would have gone out at that stage.

We unfortunately don’t stock lanterns of this size, it would give our couriers too much trouble.
